Welcome to my personal website! As of October 2023, I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chinese History and Culture at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong.
I received my Ph.D. in East Asian Languages and Cultures from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in August 2018. I also hold a B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature (2006), a M.A. in Classical Chinese Literature (2009) from Nanjing University, and another M.A. in Asian Studies (2010) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
My research interests include pre-1900s Chinese literature, classical Chinese poetry and poetics, traditional Chinese literary thought, and women’s literature. To be more specific, my current research focuses on the studies of poetry anthology, print culture, and the reception of early literature. I am also very interested in exploring new digital humanities tools for the studies of pre-1900s Chinese literature.
Recently I have been working on two digital humanities projects, please check out “A Database of Late Imperial Anthologies of Pre-Tang” and “Beyond Gender, Family and the Local–A Social Network Analysis of the Poetry Exchange Networks Among Female Poets in Qing China, 1700s-1800s” to learn more about the two projects.
In my spare time, I enjoy coding, learning new tech stuff, and developing software applications. I also enjoy writing tech blog posts on my Medium site. To learn more about my tech projects, please check out my github page.
