Supported by a Start-up Fund for New Recruits provided by Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Summer 2021-Summer 2023), and an Early Career Scheme (ECS) project grant (Jan 2022-Dec 2024) from the Research Grants Council (RGC) in Hong Kong, I am currently leading a research team of four (2 Research Assistants, 1 Database Administrator, and 1 Web Developer) to establish a database for pre-Tang poetry anthologies produced in the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911).
The database is now available as a website, which is built to provide a research tool and a platform for studying poetry anthologies and early medieval Chinese poetry. As of June 2024, this database contains over 50 anthologies and more than 10,000 records of poem metadata selected in these books. Users can now conduct full-text basic search by poem title or author, browse the anthology metadata information such as edition and publication date, and click each book to browse their prefaces. I’m currently serving as a part-time front-end developer for this website.
